    Netflix buffering unless through AP

When I try to watch Netflix on my galaxy s I get constant buffering. It's unwatchable at times. However when I turn on my access point and connect my ipod to my phones wifi I get no buffering at all. In fact the quality is alot better in all cases. Any ideas why?Samsung Galaxy S 4g

    Welcome to the forum!

Try clearing Netflix data under Settings, Applications.

    Have you tried redownloading Netflix?

    Post Thanks

Thanks for the friendly welcome. I have tried doing of those. Even tried formatting the phone and SD card (and lost my "Inception" file. /sad ) and nothing works. Figured id have more buffer issues connecting to the phones wifi. But still having the issues watching direct. And just to be sure I tried the suggestions to no avail.

Are you trying to use Netflix over 3g? If that the case I know 3g takes a bit to buffer but once its done your good to go, if however your 3g drops down to 1x during a video. Its buffer city.

Have you tried connecting to home wifi and trying Netflix ?

using 3g 4g and public WiFi

I'm usually using the 4g on my phone. It seems to me if it was a connection issue then the IPod would have buffer issues as well. Here is my situation explained with an example. My Samsung Galaxy S has 3g/4g service. I try to watch Netflix on the Samsung but get buffering issues making the streaming video unwatchable. I then turn on the mobile access point on the Samsung, connect to that with the iPod and the movies never buffer once except when it loads. Even when i'm at Starbucks connected to the WiFi I get issues. Not as bad as when i'm using my 3g/4g but still it doesn't make sense. The Samsung has issues yet the ipod does not. Like I was saying if it was a network issue then the ipod should have the same issue if not worse since it is connected to the exact same 4g network but having to go through my phone ,.by nature giving it higher latency than the phone would have connected directly. Its almost like i'm connected to a faster better network when i'm using the iPod connected to the AP.Seems like a hardware issue with the Samsung. Or something with it any ways. Like some cache setting on the GS that isn't right? :/it makes me sad because I love my Galaxy. And watching Netflix on my iPod through the gals AP seems like a waste of my network usage. (I only have 5GB of "unlimited" /rolling eyes)Its making me frustrated just thinking about. Thanks again for the help peoples.

    Still no other theories?

Is there not some special way to play with the buffer cache or anything like that ?

I am currently not able to use Netflix or HBO because apparently I am only allowed to stream them while in the U.S. >.<
